Pressed more than twenty years ago, this piece holds real leaves and grasses within hand-dyed washi paper — grass stems, fern, maple, each placed before the paper was finished. Two decades have settled its colour into something quieter than anything dyed to order.
Run a hand across the surface and the paper answers back — the grain of the washi, the faint relief of each pressed leaf still held beneath it.
Substantial enough to pin directly to a wall, or to frame, as you prefer. There is only one. Once it finds a home, it will not be made again.
